Discarding the Spiritual Junk | Jem Farmer


 

Sometimes the most powerful things are not magic or even magical but nonetheless they do empower the spirit, often incredibly so. I have made a little ritual for myself which I do every August bank holiday. I use the extra day off to clear out the junk I have gathered over the year in my workings as a witch. Bits of candle and spare incense I have used in a spell and saved for a later date. I clean down my altar and go back to basics. Two candles in their raven candle sticks, a chalice, a dish, a knife, a censor and a bowl for water. Simplicity is the key – no fancy bits and bobs just core tools of the craft.
